Dear Mr. Ngai, Fr. Johnson, Assistant Principals, Teachers and Students, good morning. Now, I would like to take this opportunity to thank Mr. Ngai once again for his kind donation. Thank you, Mr. Ngai.
Now, I am going to share with you some good news about our school. First, about the academic achievement, in the DSE 2014, our overall credit percentage (level 4 or above) is 65.6. This is higher than the percentages of previous two years. In fact, this is a record-breaking result. Let’s applaud for this excellent result.
With this result, around 60% of our students got a degree offer through JUPAS. Together with those students who were enrolled in self-financed degree programmes and sub-degree programmes, the percentage of university admission is about 90%. Since we are still collecting information from our students, the percentage should go up.
About the achievement in extra-curricular activities, our students did very well in different areas.
A F6 student got a silver medal in the International Physics Olympiad. Another F6 student got a silver medal in the International Geography Olympiad. Our Chemistry Team won the championship in Invention Projects in Hong Kong Student Science Project Competition 2014. Our Quiz Team won the championship in Food Safety Quiz Competition and first runner-up in Foreign Affairs Cup Quiz Competition. Our Astronomy Team won the first and third runner-up in an Astronomy Contest. Our Shuttlecock Team won the first and second runner-up in a Shuttlecock Competition and our Table-tennis Team will be promoted to division 1. Let us applaud for these excellent achievements.
